This is an art group for the over 60’s. We are a mixed ability group so everyone is welcome.

The WI plays a unique role in providing women with educational opportunities, the chance to build new skills, to take part in a wide variety of activities and to campaign on issues that matter to them and their communities.

What do we do?

We have craft evenings, a walking group a book club and monthly luncheon club. We have visits to the theatre and two coach trips a year. Everyone is very welcome to come and join us and make new friends.

An open session for anyone interested in developing and maintaining a community spirit in Pudsey. Drop in anytime during the evening. There will occasionally be a themed session and these will be advertised locally.

Description

The Club is a member of the National Association of Flower Arranging Societies and has been running for over 35 years.

We organise a range of activities – flower arranging demonstrations, practical workshops where you can have a go yourself, talks by local charities and organisations associated with flowers and gardening.

We invite visitors, as well as our members, to these activities. You can come along to any of our monthly events, but if you’re new to flower arranging, start with coming along to one of our demonstrations by leading experts.

They are a lovely evening out, refreshments are provided, and there is a raffle to win the most amazing flower arrangements.

Visitors fees are £6.50 per event, annual membership is £45.00 (2023 figures).

We participate in community events, such as the Pudsey Allotments and Cottage Gardeners’ Association Spring and Summer Shows. We enter the competitive flower arranging sections, run free workshops for children at the Shows, and participate in the NAFAS ‘Lonely Bouquet Project’.

We are a small group but have lots of enthusiasm and would like the Club to thrive and develop. You don’t have to be an expert in flower arranging, you just need to enjoy flowers.

Flowers bring joy. Working with them is very therapeutic and something that everyone, young and old, can do. We want to spread more joy!

The group is open to children that are home educated in the community and surrounding areas. The group is a ‘drop off’ session, and you must email: kate@schoolzathome.co.uk before attending.

The forum is a meeting place for all men from the age of 65. We have members with many interests with several in their 90’s.

We invite professional speakers who cover many different topics. The subjects vary greatly and through them we travel the world and visit donkey sanctuaries.

New members are always welcome.

We are a small informal, friendly group with mixed abilities. Some materials are available to use.

We’re a non-denominations group and we run an open circle and clairvoyant demonstration.

Everyone is welcome to join us on Thursday evenings.

We start at 7.15pm and finish around 8.30pm.

There’s a £2 charge which includes a raffle ticket with prizes of biscuits or sweets.

This community project is working on producing some giant letters that will spell out Pudsey. we have a number of knitted squares that now need to be sewn together to make the letters.
